By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Test their ability in extracting points from the passage
  2. Summarize the passage into one paragraph
  3. Make a summary not more than 60 words (use own words without changing the original meaning)

Lesson Development

  1. Ask the students read true the whole text
  2. Ask students list out words they could not understand
  3. Make the lines where you pick points to write your summary
  4. Pick out main ideas
  5. Search for secondary ideas
  6. Important to separate the relevant e irrelevant details
  7. Substitute long expressions with single words

Post Activity

Write a summary "The Importance of Knowing Child's Intelligence" in about 60 words.

  • 03:00 p.m – horse riding –took pictures –digital camera
  • 05:00 p.m – brother – swam – blue sea – collected seashells
  • 08:00 p.m – barbecue – chicken chops – salad – walk – beach
  • (Day 2 – 08:00 a.m ) visited – Pulau Kenchana – Lighthouse –souvenirs

Conclusion:
