  1. Test their ability in extracting points from the passage
  2. Summarize the passage into one paragraph
  3. Make a summary not more than 60 words (use own words without changing the original meaning)

Lesson Development

  1. Ask the students read true the whole text
  2. Ask students list out words they could not understand
  3. Make the lines where you pick points to write your summary
  4. Pick out main ideas
  5. Search for secondary ideas
  6. Important to separate the relevant e irrelevant details
  7. Substitute long expressions with single words

Post Activity

Write a summary "Health" in about 60 words.

Write a composition based on the bar graph given not less than 120 words.

Examples: 1. There was a big (adjectives) increase in the number of cars sold in 2000.
