Lesson Development
Paraphrase 0f  the Poem
ü  Stanza 1: The persona is now old, tired and weak. He was a soldier who fought for independence or freedom (a freedom fighter). He is sacrificed and suffered a lot for his country independence.
ü  Stanza 2: The persona is in a wheelchair. Maybe, he was badly wounded and crippled when he fought for independence or he is very sick. Now, he is worried about challenges and deceit in his country. There is deceit like cheating and corruption everywhere. But he can only sit and watch what is going on around him. He cannot fight anymore because he is powerless. Nobody listens to him.
ü  Stanza 3: The persona wants the younger generation (sons of our ancestor) to be brave and stand up for their freedom. He wants them to unite and fight for justice. He tells them to protect this country from threats and problems like corruptions.
ü  Stanza 4: The persona says nobody will listen to him because he is old and powerless now. He demands that the young people speak up for justice and freedom.

Theme
Recently, the Leo Club in your school visited an old folks’ home. Write a report of the visit for the school magazine of your school in your report, describe what took place at the home. Use the following to help you.

Objectives of the lesson
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1.       Read the question carefully what kind of report you are asked to write on. Is it a newspaper report, a book report, a police report, a report of an event/activity?
2.       Whatever the report, there are some common features:
-          Facts are presented based on evidence.
-          The information provided can easily be checked out.
-          The information presented must be as objectives as possible. Only facts should be presented,
-          The report is often signed and therefore the person who signs the report is responsible for the contents of the report.
3.       When you write a report, asked yourself the following questions:
-          What are you writing about?
-          What is the purpose of the report?
-          Who is going to read the report?
4.       Give your report a title.
5.       Write your point in logical order. Use sentence connectors such as First/Then/Next/After that/ Finally
 
Lesson Development
1.       Introduction (Brief Details)
-          Sunday, 24 April 2014, Leo Club members visited Rumah caring in…
-          Purpose to spend morning entertaining old folks there
-          At 8.00 a.m., 25 club members met at school, got into bus with cake, boxes of crayons and gifts
-          Arrived at Rumah Caring at 9.00 a.m
2.       Body/Content:
-          First, had ice-breaker session with residents
-          Then played “Guess Me’ game
-          Club members demonstrated their talent by imitating stars, animals and even landmarks buildings
-          Had sing-song session
-          At 10.00a.m, had a short break for tea and sandwiches
-          Then an interactive game session
-          had special colouring contest for 4 adults with Down Syndrome
-          then was lunch time, special lunch provided by   home
-          celebrated birthday of two residents with cake
3.       Conclusion:
-          After lunch, the person in charge thanked us
-          Said was first time students interacted with old folks
-          Usually people came to clean place
-           Leo Club members felt very happy
-          Said will return after their exam
-          At 2.00 p.m., departed from home
